THE ART DEPARTMENT
The Art Department of Bedford Modern School believes in a two fold fundamental principle:
That it is the right of every child to be thoroughly informed of both Art practice and Art history world wide. It is also the right of each pupil to be aware of themselves as an artist and to explore their creativity with confidence.
Our aim is that no pupil should leave this school without having had a real sense of achievement in their own abilities. We hope that they come to realise that art is a teachable subject, not one left to talent alone and we will endeavour to give pupils a knowledge of Art in its cultural and historical context, with a structured approach to Art appreciation.
The department is staffed by three full time teachers:
Sian Milton, Paula Edwards and James McGregor in addition to Grant Dudley who also teaches Design & Technology. They are assisted by Anne Marie Stijelja, part time technician.
